The movie was great, just got back from it, but when it ended all of us just shouted what the fuck, and waited for it to continue, but sadly it didn't. It was really short to, which was kinda disappointing. We were going to stay to see if there was something at the end of the credits, but we got bored and left after like five minutes, was there something at the end that helped make sense of it all? Or like, saying the monster was still alive or something?

There's whispering at the VERY end which apparently sounds like "Help us" when played forwards and "It's still alive" when played backwards.

Yeah, the monster is alive and the whole matter becomes international
Cut to the sequal featuring shadow businesses, international conflict and whatnot. I'll tell you more about it at school Pope

Well yesterday me and my brother watched it and neeedless to say it was a pretty good way to start off my movie going year. Like I thought iit would, the cinematography was very unique and served a beatiful purpose. Throughout the movie I constantly thought about if it was filmed diferently how much of a different effect it would have. The monster was impressive but ofcourse would have liked to see more of it. My only real problem was the blanness of the storyline, NOT to say the story was bad but I personally like compelling storyline. Although I think it was the primitive drive of the characters that made it so believable and easy to be compelled by.
Spoiler
I have one question though. In the end before the camera guy got killed we got the view of the monster. BUT didnt the monster seem alot smaller from the one in the city. My theory is that some of the tiny had already started to mature and that was one of the offspring but of course thats my question. Was it another monster?

I would imagine. Probably, the sequel will be like what Thor said and be kind of like an independence day type of movie, where they figure out how to kill it, now they just need to execute the plan and kill a HELL of a lot of them, all over the world and what not. The movie was to short though =/ like an hour, I was expecting like at least 1 and a half.

It was an hour and a half. 1 hour 23 minutes to be exact but I dont think it was short. I think that we are just used too watching longer movies with a more "full" plot.

This could be very possible, it just seemed very short to me, I dont know why.

I think though the director and writers meant to leave that mystery because that was the whole effect of the movie. YOu are as clueless as the characters. From beginning to end you knew just as much as they did...nothing. I believe, even though I feel left in the dark, the movie served its purpose perfectly and did what the makers wanted it to do.

Since you guys have seen it, I'll just say I hated how much it reminded me of Sin with the little monsters falling off.
Also, it had Gollum fingers.

The little monsters were parasites that fed off it while it rested in the sea, so technically they weren't really a part of it so much as an annoyance. They were used so that the characters could actually have a conflict with the monster that wasn't horrendously one sided, Abrams though if they just fought the huge indestructo monster that'd be boring, so he added little beasties to add to the suspense and bring the conflict to a smaller level

They looked a lot like monsters from Magic the Gathering... I believe they are called Scathen, but I could be mixing the name up with another game.
Also, when the people exploded, where they spawning more monsters, or was there just a toxin or something in them that made them explode?

Dunno... I'm pretty sure it was an extreme adverse reaction to the creatures, like a super-allergy due to the fact they contain an extremely high concentration of a strange chemical. Abrams said they don't spawn any more either, so yeah
